Welcome to peppermintkiss.com! I created this site in 2003 so I would have a place where I could share my doll collection, photos, sewing/customizing projects, etc. Since then it’s evolved into what you see now, which is more of a blog than an actual website, but it’s also much easier to update and manage than a regular website and gives me more time for my Super Dollfie site The Rouge Dollhaus as well as other web projects I want to work on.

I’ve been collecting dolls since 1991. Back then I started dating my current partner and he took me to a vintage toy shop on our very first date. I got hooked on toys and dolls soon after that. He became my partner in crime and together we began collecting toys and dolls from second-hand shops and collectors shops whenever our finances would allow, which wasn’t much back then. From 1991-1998, I was mainly interested in vintage American dolls and Japanese anime/character dolls, but after buying a Takara Yoshiki doll in 1998, I became interested in Japanese fashion dolls and soon after that I bought my first Jenny doll which was a Valerie shop girl (Jenny friend). I bought her because I thought she looked like a Kogal and she does! From that point forward I’ve been fascinated with Japanese fashion dolls such as Jenny & Licca and my interest in vintage American fashion dolls like Dawn & Blythe has also grown.

The name Peppermint Kiss Kiss was inspired from the Hideaki Matsuoka song Strawberry Kiss Kiss from one of my favorite anime & manga series’ (CLAMP’s Tokyo Babylon). I changed the name from Strawberry to Peppermint because I like the taste of mint more than strawberries and Strawberry Kiss Kiss was already the name of a popular CLAMP inspired doujinshi circle.
